How high will the post adjust?

Up to 4 inches. Anything over that, please get a bigger post.

How much do I cut off my jack post to allow it to fit?

We typically cut our pipe when building a jack post 3 inches smaller than the size of the post needed. This allows the Plate and Adjuster to fit snugly. Example: If you need a 75-inch post, cut the pipe to 72 inches.
